Beachy Amish Menonnites in Ireland
The Amish Mennonite Church of Waterford was established in 1992, supported by the Beachy Amish Mennonite Fellowship Churches in the United States through the Mennonite Interests Committee (MIC), which provides financial and material support and organises their mission work in Europe.
Why Ireland? There were two local couples in search of anabaptist Christian fellowship to stablish and strengthen their convictions. After sending two of their ministers to investigate the conditions of various regions in Ireland, they established the Portally Cove mission near Dunmore East (in Waterford county), which is now called the Dunmore East Christian Fellowship.
Nearly thirty years later, this church is still coming together to praise the Lord, praying, teaching, exhorting and showing the joyful, productive christian life. May the grace of God be with them.
If you want more information, you can find it on their website, or call pastor Daniel Yoder on (051) 385005.
Directions to their meeting house are below:
From Waterford, take Dunmore Road. About 2 miles before Dunmore East, turn right at sign for Dunmore East Christian Fellowship. Go to first cross and turn left. Church is approx. ½ mile, on right.
Visitors are always welcome! Sunday morning services start at 10.30am.
